OKC Bombing Thirty Years On

It’s hard to imagine the bombing in Oklahoma City occurred thirty years ago today. I remember exactly where I was when it happened. Standing in CNN Center in Atlanta watching Susan Rook hosting her morning talk show, she stopped when she was alerted and announced the event to the audience. CNN Center has been remodeled since then but the talk show was broadcast live from an area cordoned off to include an official studio audience and plenty of standing room for passersby such as myself.

I’ve written several stories that relate to the bombing on my journalism website TOCC.tv and invite you to visit those stories today. In journalism “the dirty 30” sometimes refers to the point when the author of a story sends the manuscript to the editor for final review. Of course there are other connotations as well and given the current changing of the guard in the United States, today’s 30th anniversary seems all the more poignant.

Here are some of those stories and be sure to notice that on the graphic cover there are more related stories.
