Fridge, Freezer and More Updates

On Instagram I mentioned I bought a fridge freezer combo. I know, seems kinda high and mighty. Downright uppity even. But sure enough we got hit with extended rain and cloud cover and I had to shut ‘er down for a couple of weeks.

Using solar I’ve had a fridge for years already and it has been typical that 2 or 3 times a year I’ve had to unplug it for something less than a week at a time for a lack of wattage. So, this wasn’t unexpected, just a bit protracted. Of course, I try to foresee this situation and curtail my purchase of perishables to minimize waste. It’s not that tough.

Plus, the concession on the fridge still leaves me plenty for TV, stereo and lights. Of which I recently upgraded as well. I’ve also always had a TV but smaller and just OTA. Now I’ve got a 24″ smart TV that I can watch lots of things on, and remember why OTA seems mostly good enough anyways.

I had thought that OTA would fade on out but now I’m seeing it’s potential for consistency where the Internet is awash in indescriminate junk. “A vast wasteland.” I did watch Conclave on Prime though. Wow. Since I’m not Catholic I hate to admit, I kinda miss Frank.

Fortunately, the sun came back out a couple of days ago and I’m now drinking a frosty cold coke while I do the yard work and looking forward to a big ole cheeseburger and freshly cooked frozen french fries for dinner with a side of steamed frozen broccoli. I am still having a problem keeping frozen ice cream overnight, but the frozen blueberries did survive a couple of days.
